EN AVANT LA MUSIQUE!

A multi-age language immersion program for young children 3 to 7 years old full of sounds, rhythms, and melodies!

While the children and Melle Elsa, Melle Stéphanie, Mme Isabelle, a professional singer and musician, and Mme Jolivet Johnson will have fun putting on a series of musicals, “comédies musicales,” the kids will not only learn new vocabulary, sharpen their memory, but also focus on becoming better listeners. Our goals are to keep the French language fluent and omnipresent in the children’s minds, to have fun, and do the kind of hands-on projects, like making our own props and costumes, that we don’t always have time to do during the year.

French For Fun summer camps for young children are from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for ten weeks from June 24th – Aug 28th. You may sign up for a week at a time. We need a minimum of 8 students per week. Because we have a range of ages and abilities, the children will work together at times and also in separate groups. To register, please fill out the summer registration form and turn it in with your check ASAP.

Please take a moment to look at the breakdown of the weeks so that your child can participate in a “comédie musicale” from start to finish. (Of course, vacations happen, so don’t fret if your child can’t come to all the weeks of a particular musical – the important thing is that they come!)

WEEK ONE Fabrication d’instruments
Let’s make our own instruments and get to know the entire orchestra!

WEEK TWO, THREE, FOUR Tourloublanc
Let’s get to know the child who gets magically transported to the land of colors! The children will become all the characters that Tourloublanc meets. An old classic and so much fun!

WEEK FIVE AND SIX Le Petit Opéra des Tortues
A comédie musicale about turtles Melle Elsa still fondly remembers seeing in kindergarten and loving to this day!

WEEK SEVEN, EIGHT, NINE, AND TEN We couldn’t end summer without celebrating with “La Coccinelle qui avait perdue ses points”!
