ARCHIVE - January 2010
Bonjour et Bonne Année 2010!
Before welcoming the New Year we must tell you about some of our holiday festivities. Madame Isabelle prepared and directed the younger children for La Fête de Noël, always a special event for our families and the teachers. |

Noël en Alsace
In December, our older students in afternoon immersions worked on the décor for our Marché de Noël en Alsace with Monsieur Baimba, "the Artist" at French For Fun.
This event was a fundraiser for the family of Madame Antoinette, our assistante maternelle, whose family lives in Guinea. Find out more in our Francophone/Francophile Community web page.

With our Marché de Noël in mind, students baked Alsace recipes, such as manalas, bredele (small cookies) & pain d'épice (ginger bread), with the guidance of Madame Stéphanie, notre chef par excellence.

Afternoon immersion classes and les Coquelicots (pre-K) were in charge of not only baking but also of selling our yummy foods.

La Fête des Rois (Épiphanie)
La Fête des Rois is always one of the favorite parties at French For Fun: la galette, les couronnes and let's not forget the kissing between king and queen! This year the celebration in our morning immersion program was all about Madame Antoinette. Our very own trois rois (3 kings) presented her a beautiful gift of gold. These preschool children were as impressed as Madame Antoinette and she was so moved that she was speechless!
