Friday April 22nd - Chasse aux oeufs / Egg hunt with les Poussins!
What a great morning with Les Poussins - we took a walk to the downtown Lafayette park plaza for la chasse aux oeufs (egg hunt), story telling, and special holiday games. Of course the highlight was watching the children run around the grassy park, collecting colorful eggs in their baskets. We finished up back at FFF with snack time, and the most amazing (and beautiful!) cookies, made by the Mom of one of our Poussins (see photo of cookies at right).

A GREAT TIME - MARDI GRAS 2011

Thursday February 17 - 3:30 pm - Musical Roule Galette
Our second graders (Afternoon Immersion 3) presented
a musical called Roule Galette. This was an opportunity to witness the progress and development of our students who continue to grow at
French for Fun, as well as meet their parents who
shared their experiences of transitioning from the
morning immersion into the afternoon programs.
ART WORKSHOP & CROCHET (needle point) for Afternoon Immersion Programs Wednesday, November 10th, 2010
For the second year in a row, French For Fun welcomed renowned artist Tuy Nga Brignol.
The artist presented a drawing workshop about triangles for our younger students (4 to 6 years old). And our older afternoon immersion students attended a "crochet" (needle point) workshop.
Tuy Nga Brignol is a Vietnamese-born physician (Association Francaise contre les Myopathies), the French Muscular Dystrophy Association
www.afm-france.org/afm-english_version/) and a self-taught artist. She lives near Paris with her French husband and their two sons. Since 2002, she has been participating in many juried exhibitions (France, Germany, USA).
Her drawings are made in one stroke, one continuous line, traced without lifting the pen off - one single stroke where the beginning meets the end, where alpha meets omega. After one continuous stroke the tracing is then transformed into triangles.

MORNING IMMERSION FIELD TRIPS
LES POUSSINS FIELD TRIP - MATINÉE LA FERME (Morning at the farm) - October 22, 2010
Our Poussin students had an opportunity to experience close interaction with Sienna Ranch's many animals including chickens, ducks, goats, and horses, led by one of Sienna Ranch's animal care staff members. Children held bunnies, collected eggs, fed goats, and groomed Sugar, the pony. Highlight of the field trip -- a tractor ride just like the song "Sur le tracteur de Michel" with hay bales!! This event was followed by a picnic at the farm.
LES PAPILLONS FIELD TRIP - SACHETS DE LAVANDE - October 20, 2010
Students selected fabric, sewed and filled fresh lavender into their sachets.

June 2010 Trip to Provence with French For Fun
Every two years or so, French For Fun takes its oldest students (afternoon immersion) and their families on a fabulous trip to France.
In summer 2010, the destination was: PROVENCE!
A French for Fun trip is all about the kids and making sure that their experience with France is as real as possible. We did not go as tourists but adventurers, explorers, immersing ourselves with the land and the different people we met. We did not stay in Hotels, but rather in vacation villages. We had a full program along the way, which combined culture, learning, and plenty of fun.
Check back soon for photo album!
Art Workshop - For Morning & Afternoon Immersion Programs
French For Fun offered an Art workshop for morning and afternoon immersion programs with renowned artist Tuy Nga.
Tuy Nga is a Vietnamese-born physician (Association Francaise contre les Myopathies, the French Muscular Dystrophy Association www.afm-france.org/afm-english_version/) and a self-taught artist.
The space created is then filled up with lines, loops, circles. Once achieved, depending on how the piece is handled, different impressions stimulate the imagination of the beholder.
She uses art as a means to display the non-manifested in the manifested, in the search for spiritual unity that permeates everything in life...
It was a truly inspiring experience for our students!
